Sweetheart Valentine Gift

Valentine’s Day has long been a day to celebrate love and relationships. Show your loved one that you care by presenting her with an old school valentine gift. These presents may not be expensive, but when you explain to her the history and long standing meaning of your gift, she will swoon.

A Valentine’s Day Card

When the Roman’s invaded France, they were introduced to a pagan festival during which boys drew the names of girls out of an urn. The couple would then exchange gifts (Valentine). Pope Galasiuis Christianized this ritual by proclaiming the festival in honor of St. Valentine (Valentine). The word Valentine subsequently came to mean a folded piece of paper with your lover’s name written inside it. Later it evolved to mean a poem, letter or verse given to a sweetheart (Valentine).

Honor the tradition of card giving this Valentine’s Day by constructing a unique valentine for your loved one. Be creative. Use construction paper, doilies, tin foil, watercolors, stickers, and/or wrapping paper. If you are not the artistic type, consider constructing your Valentine’s Day card on the computer. To make your card even more special, attach a small token of your love: a piece of chocolate, a small candy, a miniature rose, or a tiny locket.

If you are not sure what to write on your card, consider constructing an acrostic or a short poem. Tell her how you feel. If you are stuck, take a look at this article, “30 Days to a Better Man: Day 28 Write a Love Letter” by Brett & Kate McKay.

Flowers

Flowers are a classic Valentine’s Day gift. But before you buy a bouquet, make sure you can dazzle your sweetheart by explaining to her the meaning and history behind the flowers.

I actually love the idea of the nursing necklace and also the onsie cupcakes.  Those are adorable and I am sure someone would love to get them.
